Fireworks In My Brain

One day I didn’t wake up until 4 pm.

I hadn’t noticed the snow falling outside.

I sat in my room with the fireworks in my brain.

My mind sparkled and fizzled with thoughts I could not control.

I had no control over what the sky did, what my brain did.

I didn’t recognize the outside of my house; I didn’t recognize me.

I stayed inside my room, inside my head.

The snow was melted the next day, but nothing changed for me.
